I'm pretty much a novice gardener and am learning as I go along! We've recently moved into an old house with a large neglected garden so have spent the last 9 months clearing nettles and brambles and pruning overgrown fruit trees. We're starting to think about planting now so will be on a very steep learning curve. All advice will be welcome.

Hi @NessaJ70 and welcome to Gardeners Corner :sign0016:

The first advice I would offer, is take your time and accept that you are going to be playing a 'long game' when it comes to gardening. You will get tons of support and advice from the gang here, they really are the best people you could choose to know - you have already met our resident rose expert, @wiseowl, and there are many others such as @Sheal who is great with lawns etc, @Zigs who does trees, wildflowers and foraging, @Silver surfer who can identify just about anything, @KFF who has forgotten more than I have ever known about fucshias, and there are many more.

We love photos too, so please don't be shy about showing off your hard work.

That's a great welcome, thank you :). I can see that this garden will be a long game and I must learn patience! Lovely to know that friendly advice is at hand.

Yep, all us in the South West live in mud huts and drink zyder

No motorways in Dorzet and electricity has just been downgraded from Witchcraft to highly suspicious :th scifD36:
