Tom Petty has passed away at the age of only 66, following a cardiac arrest over the weekend.

Be it with the Travelling Willburys or with his Heartbreakers, Tom's distinctive tones have been entertaining us all for many years - almost all of my life for me.

A sad day indeed. RIP Tom - off you go Into The Great Wide Open

Love the Wilburys - in fact, the only one I don't really like on his own is Dylan, but he fits the bill perfectly in the Wilburys.

Love the Travelling Wilburys too, went to see Bob Dylan in Cardiff in May. Wasn't the best gig but at least it's one off the bucket list, so wish I went to Hyde park instead now.

To be honest, not somebody I've come across but that's a shame as I really like his music.

                Another distinctive talent gone:gaah:

Just as a bit on the side here.....

How many know that Del Shannon who was having a come back recording with Jeff Lynne ( check out a song called " Walk Away " , it's like the ELO were reborn )was due to replace Roy Orbison in the Wilburys but he too unfortunately died early before the deal was signed.

Just watched this - and not ashamed to admit, I shed a tear when it came to Roy's guitar in the chair for the End Of The Line video almost immediately after his death. Yeah, I am a soppy old git - so shoot me!
