    Hello All!
It's that time of year again and this mysterious plant has emerged. It's approx 10in tall, no scent, stocky, pale green leaves and a bouquet of tiny flowers on the top. It appears every year - in previous years the forest floor has been covered - but this year (probably because it's so wet) quite scarcely populated. It's in Brittany, NW France so I'm guessing it's probably in the UK too. Any ideas as to what it is? Many thanks! And here's to a warmer, drier summer .....

I've got one that looks like that - mine is Petasites japonicus
I bought mine for its gigantic leaves next to the pond, never realising it would flower!

Kristen you are a STAR!! That is the plant .....
Last year I posted some pics of this plant in the summer when it is huge!!! And no-one recognised it as Fuki, or bog rhubarb .... Japanese.
It is edible (the stems that is) ... but can cause liver damage! So NO crumble!!
We have it absolutely everywhere along the stream and the wood is impregnable in summer.
    Excellent Kristen!!
