As Black Friday or Cyber Monday approaches , I was looking for a new waterproof coat to protect me from the ravages of winter. They rarely have my portly size in the shops , so I was buying on line. Found what I wanted on the Millets site- special Black Friday bargain price ! Quick look on Ebay , the same coat £30 cheaper , and the Ebay store was ..............Millets  I ordered it yesterday afternoon and it arrived this morning ( how do they do it ! )Mrs H won't let me have it until my birthday though.

Is it the rather dapper version of liner ... you know the ones ... with the yellow pull ties ... so you can make it into a semblance of "Made To Measure" :heehee:

Millets website https://www.millets.co.uk is plastered with xx% off, but much of their stock is always that price. Bought a tent for my daughter that's advertised as "30% off", but I bought it in September when there was an online code further 20% off their 'reduced' price.

https://www.milletsports.co.uk Have all the same stuff, but are often cheaper than the other ste above! After finding what looks like a bargain price for something I need, I then check if GO Outdoors | Outdoor Clothing | Walking Boots | Camping Tents sell it and use their price promise to get it from them for a further 10% less.

Lots of good deals to be had, £50 off the phone I've been waiting for orice to come down and £80 off the tablet I've had for about 18 months and Mrs Scrungee will now getting one for Xmas to replace her ancient, knackered handed down tablet.

Nothing suitable yet for her overdue replacement laptop.

The (non Black Friday) deal I got last week on my new camera is no longer available, so my hunch it wouldn't get any better was correct.

Shame the Wickes promotion is only 15% off £75 online orders, and not printable vouchers for £10 off £50 and £20 off £100 as in other years.

All I need now is a £100 laptop saving, a half price Lidl cheese offer to use in conjunction with their £5 off £40 vouchers and a few other bits and pieces and I'll have saved nearly £1,000 on stuff I planned to buy anyway, but only when the price is right.

Got what I wanted from John Lewis (price match), £200 reduction, 3 years warranty (2 years more than competitors they're price matching), plus a £5 JL gift card using coupon code from latest JL mailing, and we'll both have a free coffee/tea + cake when we collect it, again using vouchers from the latest mailing.

I have cordless jigsaw, recoprocating saw, drill + screwdriver, and until recently had 7 batteties & 2 chargers, but one of the oldest batteries failed a few weeks ago leaving me short of what's required to dismantle sufficient pallets to completely fill the back of the car with rear sests down up to the roof.

So I've been watching the price of a drill complete with 2 batteties and charger as when on offer it very often works out cheaper than buying 2 batteries by themselves. Yesterday Amazon reduced their price by nearly 50% to £49.99. A couple of weeks ago got an email from Amazon with a £10 off £50 code for one of the accounts we only use when they send codes to encourage us to use it [1].

Added a 28p plastic ruler to get it over £50, used code and got cost down to £40.27, a saving of £24 on the batteries alone, plus a 3rd charger and another drilll, just in time to go pallet hunting next week when my source of stove fuel will have had a chance to build up after being depleted by the locsl firework display for their bonfire.

And I got a bonus ruler to go with my collection of useful 'filler' items bought only to bump the order total up to whatever threshold was required to get to use codes, get free postage, buy 'Add On' items, etc.

[1] It's worth having several 'spare' accounts, using once then leaving dormant as Amazon will eventually try and temp you to use it again, plus when there's a general offer you get the opportunity of taking advantage of it multiple times. Same with multiple ebay accounts, Tesco, etc., etc.
