I'm starting to think that perhaps the Animal World is more compassionate and helpful than the Human world.:dunno::heehee:

I don't know. I can't think of another species that despite living on seperate Islands, has unanimously decided that it's generally wrong to kill each other, or that every member of the race should chip in towards the cost of helping complete strangers when they are sick or injured. Or developing forces that protect the good majority from the bad minority. Or that despite their misgivings and ineptitude, generally do their best to ensure the wellbeing of other species and their habit, just because it's right.

Agreed, but I think there are a few notable exceptions to that statement.

Agreeing in principle and theory, clueless, might be satisfactory for some, but to continue in the practice of killing means that theory and principle mean nothing and, if anything, actually accentuates the hypocrisy of us all when we put that forward while holding our hand over our Heart.

There are some good organisations and individuals out there who do just that, while there are also some Organisations running a business to squeeze the last penny out of subscribers/donators for their causes while also giving some of that money to their CEO's of several hundred thousand pounds for their annual wages, plus several thousands for bonuses. So giving in to the constant and incessant marketing campaign bombardment of several thousand Charities might not be such a good idea.

And how's that going? In certain countries the police seemed more inclined to shooting coloured people than serving them. Countries still invade other countries on the pretext that the invaded country actually belongs to them while other countries shake their heads and wag their fingers but do nothing..:wallbanging::dunno:

To a point, agreed. But then you have to recognise that most of the problems suffered by "other species and their habitat" are caused by Mankind in the first place. We're still poaching and exterminating animals to extinction, harpooning Whales for commercial/"scientific" use, clearing forests by thousands of acres every day, increasing the National burning of fossil fuels
to increase the profits of Big Business, all for round bits of metal, printed paper with numbers on them and the bottom line recorded on Stock Markets.

So we know the difference between Right and Wrong, animals don't. We know that killing is wrong but we still do it, while animals do so for survival and food. We know we're putting the world in danger in the way we manage the environment but still continue to do so in blind arrogance'..................

I think I'll stick to my original statement:dunno::heehee:

Maybe you're right. We should just give up and stop trying to continually improve, just accept we're all orrible, and do whatever we please, and head back over.

No, we shouldn't give up trying to improve, clueless, but maybe we should give up just talking about it while also letting Political Leaders take short term, self interested decisions and actually do something about it.:dunno::snorky:

Well, "we", [in the form of Big Business and associated Leaders of countries] are doing that already!!:wallbanging::doh: If you look at the present form of Nationalism, mostly from the Extremists, rising/risen in the USA, some European countries in the EU, Asia, and the Middle East, you might find it's been allowed to do so because of the forlorn apathy/disillusionment within the general public of those countries because of the ineffectual/self interested/corrupt Politicians in their particular successive Governments that have been in power for decades with no real improvement for those people or the environment.
I'm an Optimist, but it does depress and frustrate me when we vote in Political Leaders who are no better than before, or in some cases even worse, while patting ourselves on the back because we are a "self aware", intelligent, far seeing species, despite the fact that we know we are deliberately making all the wrong decisions that negatively effect the whole Human Race, all other life forms, the environment and Earth itself. Maybe we're less intelligent than we would like to believe we are.:wallbanging::doh:

Well, you seem to have all the answers. More so than I do. I'd love to make more of a positive contribution to the world but I don't know how. I thought you might know?

Clueless, my friend, I'm as Human as you are and therefore as "powerless" as any man on the Street. It will take a vast change in Political and Nations thinking to halt the problems we are making for ourselves globally.
The point of my posts was to point out that your attempt to put the Human Race into a better light by quoting all the positive things for it's fellow man, the environment, etc that Mankind has done/is doing was misconceived because it seem to be blind/disregard to the fact that we have basically caused all those problems.

No one man/woman can, clueless, and I freely and humbly admit I don't have the answers. But I do have the ability to recognise the growing disregard by World Leaders, Big Business, etc of the environment and all countries populations inability to control those decisions made by those Politicians. So let's not kid ourselves the Human Race is not doing a good job, politically, environmentally, or taking decisions that are not nationally self interested, short termed, and selfish. We war constantly, we let people starve, we let corrupt Politicians, organisations take advantage of their countries, people, and environment.

So, my point was that to blithely praise the Human Race for it's principled theories of care for it's fellow man, the protection of the individual and their countries, the care and protection all other life forms and the environment might not have been as valid as you stated in your original post.:dunno::snorky:
