Whilst I had to smile - I don't like Mandelson. I think it is quite wrong for anyone to do that. Whatever you say or do and however sensible it may or may not be, there will always be someone who disagrees. GC would be knee deep in gunge if we had such a facility. Now there's a thought for an extra bit ... :grn:

It was in the news today that the woman in question HAS been arrested.

WHAT exactly did Mandleson do to get the title of Lord? I had never heard of him until he got made a Lord.

Mikkel; he just had to be mates with Tony Blair - that was all he needed to do to become a Lord. To my mind the honours systems is completely devalued by these worthless individuals who just happen to know the 'right' people. Another recent example is that idiot banker (Ex head or RBOS); Sir Fred I think is his name - he was knighted for 'services to banking' - that just about says it all.

Does anybody else remember when a woman protestor doused Edward Heath in ink when he took us into the EEC? Another forked-tongued reptile who sold this country down the Swanee!

I remember that and Maggie getting egged, can't remember why. Whatever they have done wrong, no-one should be attacked like that - although the thought of it still makes me smile.

However, I believe, in the upper-echelons of society, it's quite the thing to do. At her dinner parties (so I've been told...always had to refuse the numerous invitations I received) Dame Barbara Cartland used to silence anyone whose conversation she didn't approve of by throwing a glass of wine (or champers) over them!
