Plant them as soon as you possibly can, now they are growing shoots they will be using the food stores they have laid up and this will need to be replenished. It is possible you will still get flowers from the tulips, but l think it's a bit late for the daffs and crocuses. lf you have any food lying around mix some in with the bulbs as you plant them.

And it isn't a stupid question by any means, everyone does it now and then-even the so called experts.

Only one thing to add to Lollipop's advice....

Your bulbs may be a bit, er, "confused" and not put on much of a show this year. But leave them where they are and by next year, they should have sorted themselves out and come up at the right time. Bulbs are pretty tough and durable.

There is nothing to stop you putting them in a container as a tempory measure for this year, till you have sorted out what you want to do and where you want to put them.

:) Hello Singular and welcome to GC.

May I just say there are no 'really stupid questions' when it comes to gardening ... there are just things you know about or don't ... and if you don't there are folk here who can help you along that path to knowledge.

    Enjoy the forum!
