Newbie in Essex!

Hi everyone. I'm Cheryl from Chelmsford, Essex. Have recently been bitten by the gardening bug at the tender age of 32! Have been on the waiting list since October last year for an allotment. The very nice lady at the council said she'd be allocating them in the spring time, so hopefully will get the nod fairly soon.
In the meantime I'm planning some container gardening - I rent so can't go digging up the shrubbery! Tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, french beans and a load of herbs and a sweetpea area - as well as maintaining the lawn and borders already in place!
Does anyone have any suggestions for a mini-greenhouse? The best garden centre near me - Perrywoods (if you haven't been and live close then go, it's amazing!) - have some which include the fleece cover for only £15! Should be able to get everything started off lovely in there.
Anyway, its gorgeous outside today but stuck at work! Can't wait to get out in the fresh air and grow my own veg!

Hi Cheryl and welcome to GC, that price sounds pretty good to me for a mini greenhouse so I would go for it.

Hi Cheryl and from an Essex Boy now living in Bootiful Norfolk. Just along the road from you I was born and Laindon, yet have some friends in Chelmsford.

I haven't the health to have an allotment, but envy those who do.

It is a day of coincidence! Was writing a mail to the council just to give them a bit of a chase about the allotment and before I could send it the lovely lady rang me!! Have an appointment Saturday morning to have a look and complete all the paperwork!

Great news, I only live a mile or so from Waterhouse Lane so post up when you have too much veg to store :wink::gnthb:
