How many have addressed that subject already?
We're just getting into it. Our house is in our joint names. So it's necessary.
Wills are pretty simple, we leave everything to each other. Then jointly to the kids. Power of attorney to each other and then the kids.
My wife thinks the latter is particularly important, as she says I'm going gaga already.

I decided on this as, "the kids are already going round putting different coloured stickers on everything."

Just noted that there is a refund on POA’s taken out before March of last year ,around £50.
Just applied for ours......Times 2.......fingers crossed.
Could be double that if they pay for health and finance separately.

We used an online will template for our wills about 8 years ago . Pretty simple leaving it all to each other then split equally between Mrs H's children.
Not considered POA yet , can you organise this before you go doo-lally ?

POA definitely much better to be done whilst still being of right mind. :blue thumb: We did ours about 30 years ago (not sure I was in my right mind by then :snorky:).

Wills are also a 'must'. If you are a bit hard up, and don't feel confident enough to do the will properly yourself, then every November there is Will Aid. This is a charity that quite a lot of solicitors belong to. They will draw up your will free of charge and suggest a donation to the charity. Currently they suggest £95 for a single person and £150 for a couple (too much for simple wills and I would give half of that). It's not compulsory to give anything and I help a number of people on benefits who can't afford the suggested amount. One couldn't afford anything but the solicitor was extremely kind and understanding. Most of the ones I help give £25.

There's also Free Wills Month and the next month it occurs is March. They tend to suggest not paying anything and leaving something in your will to your favourite charity.

Will have to do PAO, as Mrs T already thinks I'm as mad as a box of frogs.
