We had a bit of a "McFlurry" about lunchtime, but it didn't settle and what we had is melting now.

The way the BBC weather people were bangin' on last night in the regional forecast, we were expecting to wake up to this, as it was in January 2010. But I guess since the Michael Fish debacle they tend to be a bit over-dramatic when it comes to adverse weather threats.

"Back in the day," I cannot ever remember school being closed for bad weather. That was because schools were usually within walking distance and we all had wellies.

Wellies are still a thing believe it or not.. My sons' school is in walking distance but I can hardly expect my daughter to walk 5 miles to her school (and back) with books on her back.

A lot of teachers travel outside of the area to teach.. the Heads of the Valleys/Rhigos mountain/Maerdy mountain are all death traps in snow when the grit doesn't work and normally get closed too. Hard to teach when you cant make it in! Plus health and safety is crazy these days :rolleyespink:

Not much in Bristol but hit a blizzard driving back from Devon earlier this evening, on the M5 and everyone suddenly went down to 30mph! It was an amazing drive, clear blue skies all around and an ominous black cloud looming closer and closer in front of us.

Very jealous of everyones stews and casseroles. I love slow cooking - beef casserole with dumplings please - but other half is pescatarian, and it's just not the same without the meat :frown:

One heavy snow shower which melted, another heavy snow shower and that has froze the road is an ice skating rink now and on the local weather we may get frozzen rain wed/thur, that will be fun :snorky: and it's a rare event

No snow.....yet! Sunny and looks warm out there :) Temp prob around freezing though.
Weatherman says blizzard conditions for tomorrow and snow showers are approaching from the south this morning
Earlier the beach was clear, the ground crisp underfoot and the sea was azure blue.:)
