    Hi All

    I have just had a number of large trees cut down to let in more light. But now I have massive quantitys of logs and large branches to use/get rid of.

    Does anyone have any suggestions of ways to use them in the garden. One I thought of was raised beds but that would only use about a tenth of the wood that I have.

    Unfortunatly I don't have a wood fire in the house either... :)

    thanks in advance
    Jennifer

    Make log piles to attract wildlife, join the local freecycle group and offer them for other uses. or if they are hardwoods offer them for sale to the local wood turner.

    Good Luck.

    * If you have kids, you could build them a den.
    * Rustic benches.
    * Make a log pile for beneficial insects to hide in.
    * Raised beds as you've already suggested.
    * A rustic fence/wall to break your garden into different sections.
    * Sell them on eBay. Loads of people have gone back to solid fuel heating and will pay for logs.

    Great thanks.

    I have a Log pile from some old wood I found when I moved in so I'll add a bit to that but I don't want too much being left to rot.

    I'll definatly find my local freecycle group as I am happy for anyone to have the wood for free as long as they come and get it.

    And I will see if I can attempt a bench but it may end up as one log for a stool :). My DIY skills are not so great.
