I only mentioned it, because I thought it might be helping to fund the hosting. It's not actually causing a problem for me either.

 

I religiously delete all cookies other than those for passwords, every night before I close down my laptop.
It seems any site you go on puts a cookie on your computer and Wiki, several.

 

Ive been using Desktop computers meet the faster, private Waterfox browser for a while now works very well never see any adds.

 

That's exactly why I mentioned it. They are not working because by default certain browsers are blocking them..

 

I subscribe to a private members only board, It's mostly used for household hints, gardening and hobby stuff, cookery recipes and posting family, days out and holiday photos. Unless you're a member you can't view it. There's only two men and ten women who subscribe.
It's an "invision board" with all the usual facilities and has been running for ten years. There's no ads. So no cookies. We each pay £15 a year which completely covers the cost. We have two people who act as moderators, but it's never been necessary to moderate anything.

 

We don't have any heated discussions, we're all very well behaved, as no one tries to be a smart-arse. We're able to laugh at ourselves, one of our number who sadly died a few years ago was the actor Sam Kelly (Rog) of 'allo 'allo fame. He was always amusing.

 

And it only takes one old wiry dame to give you fellows a spanking.
