I've just transplanted some Rudbekia from my Mum's house into my garden. This is the Rudbekia: I saw this plant growing away just next to the area where I planted the Rudbekia - it looks very similar - does anyone know what it is? If this unknown plant is Rudbekia - I'm going to look a right numpty , as I've been digging it up each year. In which case I just won't tell anyone .
Looks remarkably similar to some I was transplanting literally about 1/2 an hour ago. I grow Marmalade and Goldstrum. 1 of the varieties has a slight tinge of pink just where the leaves start to sprout so maybe look for that, altho it's only 1 of my varieties that has the pink tinge I think. I have sold loads of it at my charity sale. It's always popular. I like it as it's late when so many other herbaceous plants are past their best AND it doesn't need staking a job I detest. It maybe a bit run of the mill but often plants that are labeled as such are so only because they are easy and good performers which does me nicely.
