In April I bought a bunch of five raspberry canes as there were several areas in my raspberry plot which for some reason there was nothing growing.Only two of those canes germinated. When I bought them at the garden center the assistant said keep the receipts.I went back last week and was given five replacement canes which I have planted. My question is do I now prune them or leave them. They are a autumn fruiting variety.

Are the replacement ones in growth in pots or bare rooted?

Paul, an important factor....do you have alkaline soil? Raspberries tend to not like too much lime. Maybe why your canes did not thrive???:noidea:

they are bare rooted and were tied together so I separated them and planted them but have not cut them down. There are other raspberries growing in that area.
