It was well said... but I still think he’s a liar and an incompetent. Unconscious incompetence. He has self belief in bags but it screams of ‘fake it til you make it’ and as his decisions fail they’re swept away and never referred to and people fired. He’s isolating the US using policies that hurt the US in the long term simply because short term sound bites are all he can focus on. He can’t cope with group discussion so divides and destroys and it’s an abuse of his powers. He’s all about secrecy and obfuscation.
If you’re a supporter then fab, I’m happy for you. I don’t think he ever thought he would win the presidency and outside looking in he’s the most dangerous man on the planet.

As Murdoch owns the NYP I would be much less inclined to believe any articles in it - although it's supposed to have good sport and media sections. It has been sued many times for its inaccurate sensationalism of stories that have turned out to be poor reporting, at best, and totally made up stories/lies at worst. Very reminiscent of his News of the World and Sun papers - except he wouldn't be allowed to publish some of the racist comments that NYP has done in the past. He also owns many other news outlets including Fox - and Papua New Guinea Post-Courier .

Having said that, his sensationalist headline in the 1980's that read 'Headless Body In Topless Bar' has been listed as one of the best eye catching banners. Apparently they were going to make up the 'topless' bar part as they didn't have the faintest idea whether it was, or not. They're supposed to have spent ten times as much time researching whether it was really a topless bar (no signs to that effect) than in researching the actual circumstances of the murder.

I don't see anything wrong with wishing to improve the U.S. presence in space and applaud any new ideas for setting foot on Mars. Space research has always advanced other sciences and I'm sure shall continue to do so.

To talk of a 'Space Force' as another independent, and equal, wing of military power seems rather ambitious, foolhardy and nonsensical (not necessarily in that order ).

"I'm hereby directing the Department of Defense and Pentagon to immediately begin the process necessary to establish a space force as the sixth branch of the armed forces,"

He didn't give any idea how this would, or could, be implemented.

I've already spoken to a couple of my friends at the Pentagon and they've said it's no state secret that a lot of them at the Pentagon think he's deluded (he didn't word it as kindly as I have done). There isn't sufficient funding for them to maintain what is already expected of the military wings let alone set up a completely new wing that will cost hundreds of billions to 'get off the ground' (his words this time).

He said that the 'buzz words' now being banded around are "It won't fly!"

 

Space research and scientific endeavours would have sufficed wouldn't it. But no, he wants to throw a gauntlet down and antagonise and play the hotshot. There is no reason to have the armed forces (as a military presence vs astronauts etc) in space. Anyway, they won't be able to build the kit to get them there due to retaliatory tariffs on parts from China!
