                      It doesn’t bother me where folks come from around the world or what subjects they all talk about on here as it is nice to talk about other things rather than just gardening and it is so nice to see other people’s points of view on all different topics of things happening in the world yesterday,today and in the future and I find it all very educational especially with me being blonde and all that:snorky:

                        I agree that we should be able to discuss any topic, as long as it's legal, but I think that Redwing was implying that she thinks it's a pointless issue.

                        To some of us it isn't and to some others it's a game of winding people up - and to the rest it's a serious international topic.

                        So much of these type of topical political discussions come down to how much of what we get fed by media and the Twitterati is actual truth or whether it's fake news (a lot of it) or deliberately slanted commenting of 'news' or rumour.

                        This is not something new but the internet has multiplied it out of all proportion. Or am I making that up? :heehee:

                        As Virgil said (almost 2,100 years ago in Book 4 of the Aenead) fama malum qua non aliud velocius ullum which translates roughly to 'nothing is viler and spreads quicker than rumours'.

                        I remember him writing that after we'd had a few bevvies together :old: :snorky:

                              I believe I once read something in the rules about winding people up.
                              But I guess that only applies to certain people.

                                Of course I did not mean “outsiders” are not welcome. I am liberal and open minded and welcome diversity. It just seemed US/Canada trade agreements are a long way away from gardening.
