My neighbor has what I believe is a Stags Horn tree from which saplings persist in appearing in my allotment. Usually I just zap them with Weedol & forget about them but this year I thought I might attempt to transfer some into large pots to give away & maybe put on display near the communal area at the main entrance of the allotment site. Advise please as to how and when to perform this transplanting venture.

Thanks Clare, I was under the impression that the best time to perform this venture was in early spring when the sapling would begin to draw moisture via the roots but seeing there are four such saplings in my strawberry plot I will dig a couple of the smaller ones one up, keeping as much soil round the roots as possible, pot them on and see how they fare.

Another query, how on earth do I get the seeds of these blue poppys to germinate?

They're not something I've ever grown @Nosivad, but I bet some other forum member knows. If you want to create a new thread with 'blue poppy' in the title hopefully someone will step up to the line!
