We were talking the other day what with the roads being blocked etc if the food couldn't get through what would you miss the most.
Not a treat like chocolate alcohol etc but as a staple diet.

    Mine would be potatoes.
I just love them so versatile.
It's surprising what people came up with. :hehe:
    What would yours be ?

Tomatoes, fresh dried, canned, sunblush-all kinds. Being a veggie they are just about the only thing I couldn`t live without.

I agree with you Lyn, potatoes .... I can eat them any way they can be served .... and the ways of preparation are virtually endless. :)

    Apples!

I'm certified "apple dependent" and need to eat at least one apple a day but more often two. I always try to buy British apples and my favourites are Jazz, Braeburns, Red Falstaffs, Coxs, Jonagolds, etc, etc. New varieties, old varieties, I don't care as long as they're apples and they're British!

Well if the roads were blocked we'd be OK for leeks, carrots, beetroot, parsnips and apples as we've still got them stored or growing as well as quite a bit of dehydrated produce (peas, beans, tomatos, strawberries and apples) from the garden.

What I'd really start to miss are potatos and cheese and though not a great carnivore I do really enjoy the occasional Bambi steak with a blue cheese sauce :grn:
I suppose I could always take myself off down to the woods with a bow and arrow:D

Edit - forgot to add a bottle of wine as fermenting our stock of apples might take a week or so:hehe:
