I'm embarrassed to say I haven't seen my allotment this year, not through lack of interest though.

What with heavy frosts over the new year, excessive rainfall and more recently snow, any attempts to work it would have been fruitless. I haven't even been able to prep all the beds in my garden which is much smaller!

I haven't been idle though, my onions are doing a treat and I have new seed ready to be sown :)

The thing is Vince, allotments aren`t JUST about growing. It`s the social side as well. Meeting and interacting with your fellow plotholders. Talking about what`s been and what`s to come, and all things gardening.:D:gnthb:

Have to agree with Dai again !

Nice to visit the plot just for the social side - it makes a nice change.

And there's always something to be learnt.

Vince no fear sweetie you can always catch up soon enough and maybe get rid of that winter belly too!:hehe:

The social side of being a plot holder is brilliant although you have to set yourself a target each time you're there or nothing will ever get done but it's lovely to put the kettle on for the boys and give them a chocolate biscuit to keep them sweet!

We have been told since Bob and I joined it has become much more sociable which is very sweet of them to say that. Bob has become gang leader to the 'naughty bunch' where they try to out do each other playing tricks on one another all in good fun of course!Hel.xxx.

The social side needs "work". I've got the home brew kit but it's far to cold to start brewing :(

Once we get a respite in the weather i.e safe roads to drive on, I'll set about cracking on with the really important jobs like installing a cupboard and worktop in my shed and setting up my propane gas fired griddle and hob!

Just hope I have some time for digging and sowing!!!!

Good for you Fancy getting rid of that unmentionable no room for horrible people down on the plots, of course work does get done but as any good hostess knows your guests need tending to first.

Vince your 'home-brew' will capture many hearts and in no time at all you will have your own 'naughty gang'. Good luck and enjoy it all! :gnthb:Hel.xxx.

    Update!

    Yes it's still there :)

My allotment shed has now been re-furbished, I have cupboards and cooking facilities.

    Now onto cultivation and planting!

That's the way to do it Vince feed the body down on your plots and then there's no hurry to rush home that is unless your wife is a lovely lass! :hehe:
