Spider Getting Rid Of An Invader

I watched the leaf land in the spider's web and it came out pretty quickly to see what happened.

The web is 3ft x 2ft :rolleyespink: and has now been there for almost three weeks - photos taken last week.

I spotted the leaf as it landed in the web and when the spider came out I grabbed my camera.

It obviously wasn't at all happy with the leaf and decided to remove it - and started cutting it away.

                          P1400989.JPG

The wind didn't help and each time it seemed as though it would be cut free it flipped round and caught lower down.

Undeterred, the spider kept cutting - although I could almost see its frustration as it kept happening

                          P1400992.JPG

This time it looked as though it might work
                          P1400993.JPG

                          But not quite
                          P1400994.JPG

Still working hard and the leaf had dropped about nine inches during this work
                          P1400995.JPG

                          Now we're getting somewhere

@Sheal It was an opportune photo grab as the web is across one side of our kitchen window. I've been chatting to the spider, it's next to the opening window, whilst working in the kitchen :rolleyespink: :heehee: and it's been there for weeks. Most of the time he sits behind the drainpipe alongside. His web is attached to the pipe on that side.

If he had been a lot smaller I'd have called him Incy!
