I recently planted an Asparagus bed, and I used plug plants from Victoriana Nurseries.

This was opposed to using traditional crowns.

Can I still expect to be cropping in the second year.

    What are your experiences.

Keen to learn as always !

As they are plugs, I would assume they are year-old seedlings. If that is the case, you are looking at about 5 years before starting to crop. And 6 or 7 years before they reach their true potential.:thumb: For a couple of quid you can buy three crowns from Wilko`s and be cropping in 2 years.:gnthb::D

    .

Got an e-mail from J Parker offering 10 Asparagus crowns Connover's Colossal for 6.45, supposedly "half price".

Deliverly is 2 weeks, only drawback post and packing 3.95!

Which maybe of interest to someone!

    Cheers

If they are 1 year old seedlings, no chance of cropping in 2 years.
