Wet and windy but it is warm.......all the ice and cold is further east and north it seems

 

Hellish cold wind but not freezing as the hose is working to fill the horse's water trough. No snow or freezing rain that was forecast...yet.

 

3c raining and cold wind, one word for it, Drab

 

Well yesterday they were warning us of a chill factor, in fact it was reasonably calm and not bad when the sun came out.
This morning the chill factor must be about minus 10 and they said nothing about it.

I wish they, (the forecast people) would stop giving us all this rubbish about chill factors and "feels like" temperatures and just get on with telling us what the weather is going to be like.

Its 3c blowing a gale with a bit of rain in the wind, bloody awful.
In fact "bloody awful" would be a much better way of telling us what its going to be like rather than "feels like" which means totally nothing, depending on what your doing.

 

Greetings from the Calder Valley, where it is cold, dark and mizzly, a soft dusting of frost on the fields. I would have hazarded a guess that it may even be a very thin snow, but it is the lower fields that are whitened rather than the tops, suggesting otherwise.

 

Somebody has lifted the curtain down here.......at least 13 degrees, sunny and dry now.

Just been out to quickly to transplant the very last wallflowers and I will finish the wire supports for climbers
