    Hi

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that one of the panes of glass at the back of my greenhouse had broken. Couldn't see what had caused it but managed to get a replacement (along with lessons in how to do the installation).

Unfortunately, a couple of days later, I noticed that the same pane had broken again, this time taking the two below with it. I have managed to get some more spares, from a friend, and have removed the only thing which might have banged into the glass, but am now worried that this will recur. The greenhouse is 8x8, horticultural glass. The pane which has broken is at the back.

Is there something I should be doing about this?
The frame flexes quite a lot - should I be regularly tightening something?
    Any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

So you have 3 panes to a section, yes? How many W clips are you using for the 3 panes? Thirdly, check the bolts holding the frame together are tight.PersonallyI think you may be using too many clips.:thumb:

Three rectangular panes with a triangular one at the top
Two on each side -- same as when it was put up by the professional. When I replaced them for the second time I took care to make sure they were in the same place as the others (as opposed to rather randomly positioned)
I will do - but probably not today as it's b****y freezing out there at the moment!
Not too many (as it's the same number as the original) but possibly in the wrong places. It was all OK yesterday so it survived a week

    Thanks Dai

youngdaisydee -- We do have young neighbours but their garden is a good four or five feet lower than ours. No sign of any balls or anything like that. And their grandfather (whose house it is) is also a keen gardner with his own gh, so I don't suspect them.

Steve, if you have 4 clips to each pane, that is too many. You put 4 in the bottom pane but the other 2 panes, and the triangle, only have 2 each.:gnthb:

You mention that the frame flexes a lot? As it twists that will easily break the glass. is it secured to a flat firm base and all aluminium fixings tight?
