    What great trips everyone. :gnthb:

My inlaws did the Baltic Sea cruise last August and one of their stops was Finland and they loved it there, that and Russia :)

No big trips for us this year over here :dh:, we went to New York City for a week last year(loved it) :thumb: , and now we are saving and preparing to send our oldest off to College in the Fall, and our youngest daughter will be right behind her next year, so no big trips for us, for about 2 years, although i have been looking into doing a trip to England, Ireland and Scotland in a couple years:D:D:yho::yho:
I found one tour that looks AMAZING and lots of stops over the 20 days :yho::yho:

Menorca is lovely. Where abouts in Menorca are you going? Not that it matters too much because its all nice, and the island is small enough that you can easily cover pretty much all of it easily by public transport or taxi (or bike even).

It might still be a bit windy at the beginning of April (they have a strong winter wind called the Tramuntana - it should be well on its way to subsiding by now though), but that won't spoil your enjoyment of the place because nearly all the 'beaches' are actually just small, secluded coves.

Essential runs out include Cuitadella (the old capital), Mahon (the new capital) and Monte Torro. There are so many places to visit though, its a sound idea to get an organised Island tour. Don't listen to the holiday rep though, their tours are a bit of a rip off. Book one locally and independently, you'll get a better price and a more comprehenisve tour.

I've been to Cala'n Porter. It is slightly more 'package holidayish' than most of the island, but it is by no means over the top. Once you get out of the town square (which is nice as it is), it gets very quiet. The beach is really nice with good swimming/paddling to be had and a few nice beach bars.

One thing not to be missed though is the cave bar (Caves of Xoroi I think its called). It is so easy to miss out on because it is tucked away in the cliff side on the edge of town. From the town square, walk down the main road keeping the coast line on your right hand side, and when you get to far edge of the town, head straight towards the cliff. You'll find a nice restaraunt there, and then a few yards further is the entrace to the cave complex, which has a Cactus garden at the entrance, and a bar once you get in. It's a natural cave, not a tacky man made affair. There are balconies that actually protrude out from the cliff face, where you can drink cocktails as the sun sets. Just don't get drunk and fall off. The bar is about 100 or more feet up in the sheer cliff face.

Hi folks. Aunt Sally and me are off to Kefalonia in May. Didn't get away at all last year, too much to do on the garden (we moved in 15 months ago). The year before was a wash-out (The Lake District) so we're really looking forward to and needing this break. Cheers...freddy.

Lots of exciting trips planned for this year ... :yho:

strongy, there is a possibility ... but only a possibility ... we will be in Madeira (Funchal) in August as there is now a weekly ferry from here (30-40 minutes from us) to there .... we are investigating at the moment. Who knows, maybe we'll meet in some foreign land .... :)

We are going to Italy next week, to our house in Nugola near Livorno.
We'll be going there again in the summer, but.....

I will not be able to go to the Edinburgh Festival this year, because we've got to spend a lot of money on repairs to the house!!! I am already beginning to suffer from Edinburgh Deficit Disorder.....I will DIE if I can't go to Edinburgh!!!

However...we have a lovely garden in Nugola , and I am going to buy some saplings.
