Sowed houseplant seeds, succulents and some random slow growing garden plants (Verbena and Anthirrinum) which I have no place for but the bag said I can sow in January. I always do what the Bag tells me. Resistance is futile! ;)

    Musa Velutina
    Agave Victoria Reginae
    Ravenala Madagascariensis
    Sempervivum Mixture
    Titanopsis Hugo Schlechteri Alboviridis
    Morinda Citrifolia
    Lithops Hookeri v Susannae

I have only checked the trays twice today in case some germination happened within the last half an hour

Some interesting seeds there - lots along the same lines that we are growing

Ive had limited success with musa varieties but they were sown last August so maybe too hot

Our Agave VR that was sown last September. You may have to wait a few days for it to germinate

I only grow veg (carol does the flower stuff), I'll save seed from produce if I've been successful with and order other seed as necessary, works for me.

I like growing from seed, the resulting plants almost become "your babies"?

Mainly chillies so far, jalapeƱo and cayenne. Just today, I sowed some antirrri.. n...h snapdragons :snorky:and delphiniums.
Must sow more jals though. I pickled them last year and they are almost gone! Number 2 son is demolishing them :)

Does anyone start cleome this early? I know the info says now but I've had better luck when sowed late Feb/ early march:dunno:

Filled a load of cells with compost today ready for seeds, probably start sowing next weekend. Bought some "premium seed compost" from ebay, never again! What a load of rubbish! Luckily had a bag of wilko seed compost and a bag of horticultural vermiculite, mixed together seem to make a good mix, I suppose time will tell.

Well a quick update on my petunia seeds, after 4 days they started sprouting and this are them after 6 days, I have 3 different types all F1 and all have starting coming on still some seeds that have not yet but its looking good,
that chap off ebay is really good and gives great advice but Dobies seeds I wont be buying again.
got them under some LED plant strip lights & in a heated propagator at around 25c and they seem to love that, giving them 12 hours of light plus there on a window sill so get some real light as well. A quick fine spray every other day to keep the humidity quite high but not to high so its dripping.
                  really pleased so far.

will up date again soon :)

Have you grow seeds in cell tray before @mazambo ? I find the small cell trays dry out quite quick so I would keep an eye on them. I've got a couple of agastache on the go not many germinated but more than what I thought has germinate :rolleyespink: :) golden jubilee and apricot sprite

@mazambo I normally grow lobelia in cell trays and I am always having to water them ( I sit them in a tray of water ) if I remember right agastache require plenty of light to germinate and are surface sown .

Yes @Perki some of mine say that but a lot of others say cover with fine grit or compost to their own depth so I've done them all the same, probably end up regretting it.

@Perki think I'll try and cover all bases on this one, will try another 5 seeds of each and leave them all uncovered.

I would wait and see @mazambo you should know if they have germinated within 2-3 weeks.
