Poop scoop and covering the "less" hardy plants with fleece, we're expecting a frost!

Yesterday I managed around half an hour with the electric strimmer on some of the grass that didn't get cut in the autumn. I must have been enjoying myself as I didn't notice it had started raining until I realised I was actually quite wet :snorky:. Nothing today as more rain, cold and windy.

Yes saw him a couple of weeks ago. Basically run out of options other than try diazepam instead of morphine and “having kids might help”.....i mean....isn’t that swapping a 2 day migraine for a 20 year one?! Lol

Got to admit I'm pretty much up to date with the garden, I've nothing much planned for tomorrow.
I'll check out which of our several clematis need pruning, most seem to be producing some evidence of growth. Might use some "Wet and Forget," on parts of the patio if it's dry enough.

My wife has bought a new large hanging type bird feeder on-line. You could get a couple of pounds of bird food in it. I'll hook that up on the pergola on the back wall of the house.

Compared with the one we've had for a few years, I think it's for condors.

Having kids is a bit drastic isn't it :yikes: :loll:. Did you tell the neurologist that you already have two four legged babies anyway :). I have a friend who suffers from migraines and she says how frustrating and debilitating they can be. Will you try the diazepam?

I feel great sympathy for migraine sufferers....my niece has them now and then. I rarely have even a headache!
There was a programme on the tele suggesting all sorts of solutions for migraines but a new magnetic gadget soon to be available promises good results so, fingers crosses, it will help sufferers :)
Apart from adding some more mulch there will be little time for gardening. Always time for a walk to the beach with Nico though....not quite a year old but a bit of a scamp! Fun though:)

Sorry to hear about your migraines @Snorky85 ....fellow sufferer here. Having children made absolutely no difference to the frequency or severity of mine!!

Hibernating away from everyone and everything and ' riding ' them out for 2/4 days seems my best option. Some drugs have such weird side effects....one in particular, felt like I was living in a world made from squishy marshmallows !!!!!!!

They are horrendous ,at times I feel like I have something growing in my head and that it will burst out at any moment! The only 'good' thing is that at least they do give us a warning that they are on the way !!

You have my full sympathy and I hope it's now eased up a tad.Take care.

Thanks for the sympathy....it does help a little lol.

Tried the diazepam and it didnt do anything!!!! Back to oramorph next time i have a bad one. I’m still struggling today but managed to get some fresh air and gardening. @Upsydaisy my grandmas started after she had kids-i told the neuro that. I was extremely down with the pain a few months ago and we are waiting for that new “miracle” drug to become available in the uk (currently no licence so not even available privately). Its a sad state to get in when ur in bed hitting your head with a metal spoon because that takes the migraine pain away for a split second LOL.

Anyway-gardening is my saviour! Helps no end. Althought today bending down has bren painful. Managed to dig out a tree from the front and move it to the back. :)

I wasn't far wrong when I said this bird feeder was suitable for Condors.

It's a disaster. The apertures that release the food into the tray are far too big.
The tray has tiny slits to drain away rainwater, but more water ends up in the base of the feeder as the bottom of the apertures are level with the edge of the tray.

                            P1020199.JPG

To fill it, there's a cable, you release a pin and the body of the feeder slides down to the ferule on the end of the cable. This would be handy, as at the rate it dispenses food, you'd be filling it every day. Then there's the next problem, you need a funnel to fill it (I only put a couple of inches of food in it) as the access is very limited.

The starlings were swinging on it this morning which increased the rate at which the food was being dispensed.

So after a couple of hours we ended up with this on the patio.

                            P1020198.JPG

As my wife bought it on a shopping channel, it's going back.

I've been out there this morning to clear up all the food with my wet n' dry vac. If I left it it would only attract the wood pigeons, which I've always tried hard to deter, they make so much mess.

Got back to immediately cut back lawn that has not stopped growing. No need to cut front lawn as it was fiercely scarified a couple of weeks back and already it is greening up well.
Many plants in gh are drying out so they were watered too. Tempted to cut down a couple of miscanthus Gold Bar and Morning Light but their winter structure is still looking good so will leave them a while yet:)
Some heavy showers this morning but the afternoon was dry and sunny :)

@Snorky85 @Upsydaisy I used to suffer badly with migraines. The migraine clinic I went to put me on an Ergotamine based medication. It worked fairly well but I didn't like the side effects. I was told that the bad migraines tend to diminish once you reach 45 years old. They were correct :blue thumb:
