        My goodness, I never thought I'd hear anyone wishing for snow outside of that Bing flick!

        It's only 5:30 here and now 1f.... and dropping. ..

        Actually I like it as long as I am dressed warm. Had to shovel my way to the bird feeder to fill it and the Cardinals came to thank me :)

                  26.1F, yesterday's promised snow didn't arrive and they forecast a high of 1C.

                  The climate has certainly changed over the years we've been here in Shineyland (47 years) and winters have got much less harsh. Each winter we used to get cut off by snow for at least three days and anything up to a week. The farmer down the road sometimes used to come out with his tractor and sugar beet shovel to clear the road so that his workers could get there.

                  I used to have to put snow chains on the car a number of times in order to be able to get to work. Although we still get some snow most winters our road never get bad enough to need snow chains and the volume of traffic seems to keep the snow that does fall as a manageable slush.

                      If and when we do get snow we are guaranteed to be cut off for a few days as our lane is never considered worth bothering about by our council. It's a fairly long lane without pavements or streetlights and there are only 5 houses and a farm scattered along it. We are up towards the end of it and as it's a no through road we rarely get any passing traffic apart from the bin collection and post.So no....we never ever see a gritter either!

                      High of 4C with a low of -5C later!

                      Wrap up warm....or snuggle up under the duvet ;)

                              Sunny/cloudy and 19c but very windy/gusty @ 32kph, going down to 13c tonight. This is 4-5 degrees above normal! It

                              The wind will knock all the blossoms off the Almond tree before it goes into full bloom ... then we have Algarvian snow. :heehee:

                                Quite a large Snow fall overnight in Ramsgate, mostly done now. Hopefully this cold weather will kill some of the nasty garden bugs.
