Have a look on Ebay Kathy, you should be able to find a genuine copy of XP Home edition for under £40.

Be careful though as there are lots of 'copied' versions out there, but if you shop wisely you should be ok.

Kathy; you might have a fair old faff getting XP loaded and then all the right drivers for your PC, so thats got to be a last resort for you.

If you stick to Vista you can get it to look like XP on your PC by following some simple steps e.g. googling: "How to Make Windows Vista Look Like XP"

    For example.
    http://freeonlineclasses.net/windows-vista-tutorials/personalization/make-vista-look - like-xp-classic-without-hacks.html

It won't look entirely like XP, but it might be enough for you.

    :gnthb:

You should be able to find your camera photos using Windows Explorer.

As I've said in other similar threads, Vista can be a real pain when it comes to drivers for some peripherals, particularly ones whose drivers are a few years old.

BTW Kathy, what camera (make & age) are you using?

Glad you got it but if not most new PC's have a duel boot option for XP or Vista so it might be worth having a look at that.
Personally I prefer XP professional which give me all the options I like

I got fed up with the Windows new versions and having to update my software to run on the new version. I only have two applications which work on all versions of Windows, so I changed to Ubuntu OS (FREE) and a load of software (ALL FREE), even the two Windows applications run on Ubuntu. I don't get any problem with virus, it can't run on Ubuntu because of the way it works. But you do have to start learning all over again.
