Bee rescue

found a bumble bee that looked almost dead this morning. I was going to move it out the way and a little leg moved slightly. So i put a few flowers and sugar solution on a plate and sat the bee on the plate in the warm sun. straight away its proboscis came out and i could see it lapping up the sugar solution! Was amazing to see!

A few minutes later it started waggling it’s bum like most alert bees doo...then a bit of cleaning with its front legs. Then it flew up...buzzed a few circles around my head and rested on the wall before buzzing off.

I did something similar about a year ago, also using sugar solution. It was early in the season so there were not many flowers around. Unfortunately, I did not take any pictures.

As a cautionary note to other people reading this, please do not feed the bees "untested" honey as it may spread viruses that could wipe out whole colonies.
