Well I did my bit today to regenerate the British economy. :D
I saw a new Poundland in Wakefield, and went in to have a look. They had a small number of gardening things and I was pleased to get for £1 each packet:-

4x Incarvillea delvayii (hardy gloxinia/ flowering fern)
    6x Mirabilis jalapa (4 o/clock plant)
    3x Eryngium planum (sea holly)
    25x Acidanthera murilea (peacock orchid)

and they had some other small bulbs - 2 packets for £1 - no wonder Woolies couldn't compete!

    Well done Peter.

I think Pound land has now been undercut.

Apparently the pound is only worth 75 p now anyway, so either way, I think we are being overcharged.

    Sorry about this Peter.

I have to say I have bought lots from pound land over the years.

From fruit trees, to bulbs and seeds to cloches, fleeces and many other bargains :hehe:

All have been perfectly fine and great value for money.

Not that people have less money up North but in Newcastle there was a penny land though I never went in but doubt that was the prices!

I just got back from the Range - no sales on pots but also many of the pots were in a dark area outside so I couldn't really see them. In general they do seem quite expensive though - £40 for a big square one and it's not even pot it's fibreglass:scratch:

They do have a seed sale on though and their £1.99 seeds are 3 for 1 - most in packets with 4 types/varieties so I got:

    Sweet pea collection
    Buterfly collection
    Field flowers Mix
Hanging Basket collection - Nast tomb thumb, lobelia sapphire, sweet pea, petunia (2,475 seeds!)
    Field flowers mixed
    Marigold and petunia (1,300 seeds)
