@capney the larger older hogs will compete for food with each other and the younger ones. It's quite common for scuffles to develop and the smaller hogs to get shoved out of the way. It's usually less violent than it looks but they can injure each other if they take a mind too. I've seen a few nasty hog bites. Several food bowls spread around helps to reduce competition and protecting of food sources :). Personally I wouldn't put the food near the water as - again - one hog might try to protect it and prevent another from just having a drink. I make my own feeding stations but you can buy ready made ones.

I've had them coming in the garden for a long time, hubby has bought a container and made a 5 in × 5in hole in the one end. I've put small pieces of dried dog food chicken flavour but not fish based and some water close by but not inside. Put 2 house bricks about hand width from the entrance to stop cats getting in. He found it on the same night that i put it out.

I've still got the 3 Hedgehogs in the garden that lived in the old Compost Heap and they amble around the place quite happily as Jenny the Cat leaves them well alone. When I knew I was getting rid of the old huge compost heap I started a heap of twigs, stems, branches, leaves, etc down at the bottom of the garden which is allowed to grow wild and kept them safe while the Garden Landscapers dug out the old compost heap. The Landscaperes were really concerned about finding more Hedgehogs and dug the heap very carefully. The Hedgehogs are now residing in the new home and where no one can disturb them. and trundle through the borders and to the Wild Life pond without even bothering about me.:heehee:

Yes I've made a heap of leaves, branches and twigs in the back garden right at the back where they won't be disturbed and there's a lot of vegetation that they can hid in because i don't get around to tidying it up. :heehee:

We've got three hogs, but i'm having problems with 2 fox clubs who like to get in to the hog box and steal their food, good job I keep changing the way in, i'm hoping that last night I stopped the fox clubs from getting in, but it's amazing how the clubs can get into the box with a small hole which is only just fit for a hog :rolleyespink:

At least one hedgehog here but I haven’t sorted out any “housing” for them. Think I’ll take a leaf out of Logan’s book and sort out something similar here :) Got a couple of good protected corners at the top of the back garden I could use:)

Logan, Nico will be having a swim this morning at the beach. ...dogs allowed here! He loves it :)

@Jiffy you could try to put 2 house bricks in front of the opening a width of your hand from it, that's if you haven't already.

@Verdun that's great about Nico have you got any more pics of him please?

I found some old slow bend drainage pipes 4 inches insides and that's stopped the little monkey  it's fun just watching the cctv of them trying to get in, he/she tried hard and i'm waiting for the pipe to disapper off around the fox's head
The little monkey has also chewed through the cable of the cctv  new one's ordered

Last night we must have had more than one in the feeding station, some of the food is all over the floor and the bowl has been moved.
