    Hello all!

I'm currently a student, studying to become an engineer and, this is where things become a tad awkward, designing a website for a garden centre as part of my human-computer interaction course.

I tried checking the forum rules sticky and it led me to an 'invalid thread', so I don't know if I'm breaking rules here or if I'm simply posting in the wrong place.

I would be extraordinarily grateful if a few people could answer 5 quick questions for me? They're all yes/no style answers based on what you would look for in a website for a local garden centre.

I won't bother posting them yet in case an administrator decides to block this or if everyone says no, but I'd be truly appreciative if anyone could indicate that they'd be willing to help out.

Thank you very much for reading,

    Rich

As tempting as it is to just rush in, I've got no intention of annoying your admins, so I've PMed Banana Man and Daisees about it.

Thank you all for your responses so far.

Thank you all! Seems we're good to go.

Could you please just copy/paste (or quote?) the following, deleting those that aren't appropriate? Or just list 1a, 2a, 3c etc, whichever is easiest for you. One answer per question, if possible. Though feel free to use more if they seem appropriate.

    Thank you very much again!

!Please bare in mind the following is for a local garden centre, not an internet-only store or even a general gardening website.!

    1) Would you ever use a website for a local garden centre?

    a) It would replace the centre, provided purchasing options were provided
    b) I would use the site to complement the centre
    c) No

    2) What would be your most frequent reason to use a local Garden Centre's website?

    a) Browse the selection online for ideas
    b) To check stock
    c) To check prices
    d) Gardening/garden design Tips from experts
    e) Gardening/garden design tips from a community of users
    f) Purchase online
    g) Find out details such as opening hours, location, etc.
    h) Other, please specify...

    3) Which sounds better?

    a) “Tell me what you want and I’ll tell you if we have it “
    b) “Have a look around and see what we have on offer”
    c) I'd like both, pretty much in equal measures...
    d) Neither, please elaborate...

    4) If using the site to make a purchasing decision, how do you think you would come to a conclusion?

    a) Comparing multiple items at once and taking the 'winner'
    b) Viewing individual items from the entire range and making a short-list to check in-store
    c) Viewing individual items from the entire range and narrowing the options to only items you intend to purchase
    d) Using search criteria to have recommendations made for you and narrowing the selection in this way
    e) Other, please specify...

    5) Would the ability to synchronise user-specific recommendations between the website and an in-store display interest you?

    a) Yes
    b) No
    c) Maybe
