Anyone got the January Gardeners world? Are the seeds a good offer - I would not want to grow the veggies (not enough room sadly).

Does anyone subscribe to this - would it be a good idea for a newish gardener - I like the 'what to do this month' section. This issue looked like it contains some useful info but Decembers issue I thought was rubbish :dh:though I did get a calender... :gnthb:

Any other good magazines to recommend - I'm not growing veg just gardening..

Hi, I subscribed the "Gardeners World". It is not bad magazine in general. The 10 packets of seeds for £1.99 is a good offer.

    They include
    pumpkin 'Hooligan'
    Beetroot ' Cylindra'
    lettuce 'Lotto Rossa'
    Cabbage 'Tundra'
    Carrot ' Tendersnax'
    Sunflower 'Pastiche'
    Poppy 'Flanders'
    lemon Balm melissa officinalis
    Cornflower 'Blue Diadem'
    Teasel

I have sent out a check for them. You can always grow a bit of lettuce and beetroot in pots even you don’t have much space.

I would recommend "Garden News Magazine" to anyone. It is probably the best one in my option. It is weekly newspaper packed with various gardening information. My favorite section is 10 page readers’ gardens and plants. But subscription about £56 annual is not cheap.

Hi Men8ifr, I also often buy the Gardeners world mag and must admit I'm not a huge fan. Im normaly half a dozen pages in before I find something interesting to read then you have all the ads in the back so im not left with much of a read. And whats all that make your own diy nonsense all about. For crying out loud if I wanted to make Christmas baubles I would buy a craft and hobbies mag.
I woud highly recomend Garden news weekly newspaper, you can subscribe now for £52 and for me GW cant match it.

    Chengjing,
Do you really think that 52 quid is a lot for 52 issues of the paper? It is £1;80 per issue if you don't subscribe!!!!
