Get the sledges out for the lads. I'm still wearing shorts and a T-Shirt. The long range Winter forecast for the West country doesn't look good either :skp:

Snow to hit Britain next week.

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know.....:flag::D
I heard last week on two different radio stations that we are going to have another hard winter, and they reckon the snow blizzards will be like som e of the ones we had in the winters of the 1970's:oops::p

I reckon the 60's ... where snow stayed for weeks and weeks ... and you could sledge after school.

I really believe in a 50 year cycle so bring it on.

Mrs Axl is expecting a baby at the beginning of December so the more snowy days over Winter I can stay at home cuddling the family the better :yho:

Until we had a really cold winter two years ago every weather expert was forecasting mild winters.

We have now had two cold ones, so I suspect the experts will continue to forecast cold ones until we get another mild one.

Not saying they might not be right, but they do tend to get stuck in a rut.

Congratulations Axl - hope it doesn't stop Mrs Axl getting to the maternity unit. In the bad snow here in 2009 the ambulance couldn't get up our road for our next door neighbour when she went into labour. She had to walk a few hundred yards to the end of our road with a couple of us holding her up in case she slipped on the ice :thumb:

Crikey. Better get out in the garden putting it to bed, then.

Just after a nice indian summer too.

More and more and more erratic weather as climate change gets worse, I'm afraid.

    Congratulations to you both Axl.
I'm not taking any chances - I ordered a double log delivery for the stove.
But I hope they're wrong. We lost so many plants last year.

Thanks for the warning Axl. Its time to have a plan for the tender plants that can be executed quickly if needs be.

I guess that's a final goodbye for this year then to the Dahlia and Begonias. And I'd best bring the Lemon Verbena in somewhere frost free!

Yea, well done mrs & mr Axl, good timing there.

Time to get the bags of salt/grit now, not when everyone else is trying to get them.
