Barney has Covid-19 - good try EU - but we're not extending.

I see that Don has identified an existing malaria drug which is effective (so far) against Covid-19 - it's commonly available apparently.

Good on you USA I say.

 

Just having a read through, before today's update from Boris and friends. Changed internet supplier and only just came back online. Things seem to be moving at an increasingly faster pace !!

 

I sneakily copied this from a Tesco email, they are also paying double time to staff to cover staff shortages.


Vulnerable colleagues:

We are putting in place measures to support colleagues who are over 70, vulnerable or pregnant, for whom we know from NHS guidance, Coronavirus could be a greater risk.

In line with government guidelines, these colleagues will not be required to attend work for the next 12 weeks. This absence from work will be fully paid, with two of the 12 weeks coded as holiday.

School closures and caring for dependants:

With school closures now confirmed, we have made sure that there are a range of policies in place to support parents with any time off needed. We will support colleagues with paid options, such as holidays and amended working patterns – these can be combined with other types of unpaid leave, including a new school closure leave policy.

If you need to care for a dependant, holidays, amended working patterns, emergency leave and lifestyle breaks, are all options available to you.

Self-isolation and sickness absence relating to the Coronavirus:

If you are in self-isolation at home for 7 days because you have symptoms of the virus, or you are self-isolating with your household for 14 days, you will be paid in full for this period of time.

If you become ill with the Coronavirus, you will also be paid from the first day of absence, regardless of your sick entitlement or waiting days.

If you are self-isolating with your household or because you are vulnerable, and you can carry out your role from home, unless unwell, you should continue to work.

This is what large companies should be doing so well done Tesco, I know not all can afford to do this which is where the government should step in

Your right i am entitled to my opinion and because of spending most of my Army life serving in some really dirty countries and seeing how a lot of the third world live and seeing some really shocking states of babies being born with some shocking illness/ disfigured through being fed foods that "shall we just say unclean, water infected by verious rodents and all via no health care available and verious goverments not doing anything "and i do mean" anything to take note what
decease is all about,
Now we do have a problem just waiting to happen ref house hold waste not being removed quickly enough "And all down to costing"

The signs are here right now, As ive said rats on the increase and even a worker in a Tesco warehouse was bitten and ended up in a serious state with a rat caused decease 'He lived in your neck of the woods so you may have seen this case in the daily mirror"

Its not just this latest confirmed virus "but whats around the corner for the next one"

Ask yourself this question, when things have gone badly wrong, Have you ever said why did'nt someone tell me ?

Having house hold waste sitting outside anyones front door on the streets for "Weeks at a time" isnt a way to fight germs/virus and fly/rats etc

And yes your right "Wise owl" I am entitled to my opinion and i dont want to upset anyone
But until anyone can prove to me these practising ways of removing wast are the best ways
I'll stand up with what ive said?

 

Cant say I've ever had a problem with the refuse collections around here.
Fly Tipping is something else though.

 

No problems here with waste collection or access to recycling centres.
As stated above, this subject is best in another section.

And thanks for your remarks,
Firstly i no longer live in the uk and so we dont have these 3/4 weekly collections as is happening now in north wales in the area not far from my old address,
But as i do read the local and nat, BBC news i read whats going on in the area i once lived in.

And a three weekly collection is whats going on now, much to the upset of the people recieving this service,

You shouldn't use news paper, the sewers cant cope with it, it will join up with all the oil and grease from the local throwaway restaurants and form fatbergs.
