Hi from a Newbie

Hi everyone

I'm afraid I don't have much experience with gardening but would like to learn more in order to complete a balcony project. I have dogs that love to dig holes so I've never really considered doing much with the garden, but would love to have a nice little area on the balcony to relax in that I can protect.

So far I have two little trees in large pots (a plum and a cherry) which I put in last year as something of a test and they are now still alive and thriving. I found this encouraging enough to think about expanding so I have more colour and fragrance but I also find the prospect daunting - managing not to kill something over one winter does not a competent gardener make so I would love to get advice from any experts willing to put up with me.

This forum seemed like a very knowledgeable and friendly place - thank you very much for having me and I apologise in advance for how much of a novice I am
