Gardening is a wonderful thing and I can remember starting out some 50 years ago growing radishes for the family, even though I don't like them; lupins were a different matter and I still grow them.
Yes get another Buddleja there are a lot of B davidii varieties to choose from.No not all shrubs grow as fast as Buddleja do.

When I took a stem cutting from same young buddleja a couple of weeks ago I couldn't bear to sling it out so I stuck it in the ground with banana skins and teabags and it's already away. Hmmm...I do love lupins, so I might give them a try next year. I'll know who to pester when I mess up, then............
