As I said,Not nice pictures...in fact very scary!
On Wednesday evening I was cursing something cronic about the smoke stinking the house out and blaming someone with a garden fire.
The good folk in the house were seated for dinner when neighbours raised the alarm...they had no idea the whole first floor was ablaze.
There was a big problem trying to put the fire out because the water directed on to the thatch, which was burning at it's base in the attic, was deflected off ...as thatch is meant to:doh:
6 Fire Engines attended and managed to stop the fire spreading to those oh so very close houses..

The house was totally refurbished 2 years ago when the new estate was built on the grounds of the famous Gorden Russell workshops..

Back to the Grange and the 'new' glass for the sashes
    [IMG]
The glass is heated to recreate Georgian made panes wich are distorted..

s00k Oh my word Pal...................... For some reason I havw missed this thread for a while.......................................................! The thatch cottages..... I assume no one was hurt...? But bigger question are they homelesss now poor things & do they know why the fire broke out anyway.???????????????????????? Fire........ Scarry stuff........................!!!! s00k What did you have to do there.?

:) Going back to the Grange must have been very pleasant then.! You know it is so hard to bring listed buildings into the future to be managable, it is about time you glaziers helped out the masses when they are trying to restore on a budget... :ntwrth: Brilliant Pal, modern tech & ye olde time looks....!!!! :thmb::scratch: Wonder how much extra that costs....:D

The two cottages are just up the road from here Marley, one of them is a holiday home and was empty and the family living next door moved into the famous Lygon Arms Hotel across the road....thanks to the insurance policy!
Seems it was an electrical fault...I was sent to look at the leaded windows and metal casements....all condemened:(

Don't know about the owners doing up the Grange on a budget:D...South Africans on a mission more like, attempting to buy up the Cotswolds. They've already bought five properties and land surrounding the Grange....and guess who's company has the job of refurbing them all?:gnthb:
The heat treated glass cost £545 for 14 panes :dh:

That is one impressive tattoo he's having done. It'll look awesome when it's finished.

Not so sure about his taste in underwear though! But that's heterosexual young men for you!
