Who believes Trump?

@pete The thing that annoys me is that the lines are being blurred and not out of a genuine concern for minorities, just political manipulation. It's so incredibly transparent and cynical. Back when I was a kid and people referred to someone as "Far-Right", you'd know what they meant, Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, anti-Semites. (though antisemitism is by no means exclusive to them, of course) Well, I'm not Jewish but we should all be concerned about that sort of thing, but thankfully their institutional influence is zero to negligible. Whereas the Left do have institutional influence and seem to get away with the same hateful rhetoric because they're not anti-Semitic, but "Anti-Zionist", apparently. Many of the same Jewish conspiracy theories, but for some reason they're treated more leniently by the media. Just sick of the double standards...

To me most of this "problem" has occured due to immigration.

I had one slightly brown kid in my class at school.
If you look at schools in the news on TV most are black and ethnic.

Now, I don't consider myself racist, before any body decides to suggest that, but if nobody can see what is going on they must be blind.

I take people as I find them, and dont have any preconceived thoughts, but I grew up in a country that was very different to the one it is now.

And before anyone starts on the old line of how wonderful it is that we have these people enriching our society, lets just think, are they enriching it or taking it over.

The usual line is that they bring their cultures here and make our lives better.

British culture has disappeared, and is despised, because they say we never had one.

 

I'm wary of replying as I'm not sure you want me to - as you say this line of debate is getting tiresome. But I will respond to a couple of things. There are always going to be instances of unpleasant people supporting particular policies etc, but when it is one after another after another, and individuals like Covington specifically endorse someone and list the reasons, it does become a worry. Jeremy Corbyn was not Far Right but Far Left, but you will be aware of the Horseshoe Theory, and of the menace posed by the Far Left, which is just as insidious, divisive and extreme as its right wing counterpart. Griffin and Duke endorsed Corbyn because of antisemitism; Trump has been endorsed by neo-Nazis largely due to dogwhistle rhetoric and the infamous "Muslim ban" etc. Their politics are very different, but there are many similarities in their approach, and some of us who come from or are part of minority communities within each country had much to fear from either man in power. Its also worth saying I didn't accuse Trump of being Far Right himself, but the closest thing we have seen a a FR President in our time.

 

Well I happen to be Jewish Pete, and I must say I find what you're saying here to be deeply disturbing.

 

African, Caribbean and Asian doctors and nurses are currently keeping my mother alive. I regard their presence in this country as more than "enriching" and certainly not evidence of a takeover.

As far as I can see Biden has only got one good thing going for him at the moment....he's a dog lover and has more than this one.

 

I don't think the majority are but some certainly do seem to have that attitude. When we did it it was called "colonialism", why isn't what they're doing called "reverse colonialism"? Indigenous Brits will be a minority by around 2066 if current trends continue, did anybody actually consult the people about this?

We seem to be welcoming people who take our kindness for weakness and start calling indigenous Brits "racist" the minute they arrive here. If they hate Brits that much, why aren't they back in their ancestral lands?

This is what pees me off, the historical revisionism! There's no doubt that some immigrants have made huge contributions to our country and culture, but they talk as if indigenous Brits weren't/aren't capable of anything and unable to exist without immigrants, almost as if Brits (I'm mixed ethnicity myself and damn proud of my English half) are racially inferior.

Well, I think you are taking it the wrong way then, I'm not good with words, like yourself, or others on here, I might be anything regarding my ancestors, so don't get hurt by it or disturbed, just accept we don't all think alike.
I'm not going out tomorrow to behead someone.

 

From a point of history (and splitting hairs) Nikolaos, indigenous Brits haven't existed for at least 1500 years. We all have mixed blood due to invasion from other countries.

 

@SimonZ Excellent article, mate! Yes, this is what annoys me about the Left, the hypocrisy. I find the views of those on the Far-Right utterly repugnant, but if there's one thing worse than their racism, it's the racism of the Left coupled with a particular sort of added cowardice. The cowardice of some of them not being honest about their anti-Semitism and hiding behind the "Anti-Zionist" label, and the cowardice of those who aren't anti-Semites failing to call out prominent members of their party who entertain those sorts of views.

And yes, I am aware of Horseshoe theory and subscribe to it.

Just like most any country in the world, have you tried going back 2000 yrs , or 2500 yrs I could go on.
Even the Aborigines in Australia actually travelled there from somewhere else if you decide to go back far enough.

 

I keep trying to tell the BNP this when applying for membership! "Look, I'm half Greek and tan really easily, plus we're all mixed anyway!" They're not having it. I'll show 'em when I send them photos of my lily-white skin this Winter!
