Love decorating the house for Christmas. I've just come in from hanging lights around the house outside. I can no longer feel my fingers! Jeepers it's cold out. lol

I've put mine up super duper early as this year more than any other we need the cheeriness of the warm glow of lights on the tree. I've made my own garlands & wreath in the kitchen as buying the equivalent would have cost me various limbs.

I have a gingerbread/candy theme in the kitchen and a more traditional tree in the lounge.

I decorate down near the treads so as not to interfere with the hand rail.

Got the same for the living room window as well, don't put them out side like the other residents.

Not mine, but our County Town of Silves has lit up the castle which dominates the small town ...

                The castle looks fantastic!!
That looks so festive Vicky, I'm not planning on going into our 'big ' town this year but they usually do a brilliant job too, they also have a great German Christmas Market running throughout its pedestrianised centre...not too sure if that's even happening this year though:dunno:

Hi Upsy. Silves is the biggest town in our County, also called Silves. The urban population is about 11,000. They are going ahead with our Christmas Market this year which has a Moroccan theme as always in Praça Al-Muthamid (in the photo above). It is open from 2-8pm from 7 December to 7 January except December 24, 25 and 31 2020 and January 01 2021. We don't go anyway. Health guidelines must be obeyed.

Seeing all the lights. Reminds me of Vera Lynn and her wartime song. When the lights go on again, all over the world.

I miss seeing the xmas lights and houses with trees in windows, etc. Where I live there are just a few scattered houses and If they have decorations they are not visible. I keep meaning to go out for a drive at night just to see the lights around the island. Beaumaris has a rather magnificent tree by the castle I've been told and lights down the high street.
