We had to nip to B&Q yesterday for some bits and pieces and naturally I gravitated towards the gardening area. Mostly disappointing, but...they are currently selling perennials in boxes. These seem to be dried roots of all our favourite perennials - lupins, echinaea, verbena, delphiniums to name a few. Best of all you get between 2 and 5 "plants" per box for £2.48, or 5 for a tenner. Bargain I think....so I bought 5 of them and now have 14 MORE plants to find spaces for! Not sure of they'll all come up, but at that price, its worth a try:gnthb:

Absolutely. I haven't checked inside the packs yet, but according to the instructions, plant between nowish and Spring, which sounds about right for dividing perennials which is really what they've done, I think.
If all goes to plan, I'll end up with 3 Aquilegia, 6 Delphiniums (the 2 metre variety), 2 Phlox and 3 Echinaea.

Aaron, assuming they are in the usual plastic packaging, I would take them out of it ASAP.:gnthb:

I have more than a couple of things looking for homes!

David, once out of the packaging, do I need to plant them up or will they be fine bare rooted until I plant them (in a couple of weeks time)?
