Evening all ... hope you are having a wonderful festive season .... I am a serious fan of Riverdance ... and Michael Flatley ... and have just been watching several programmes about them on Sky3 ... I am so in awe of them and would certainly see them live as they give me goosebumps watching them on TV. And Jean Butler is to die for ... reminds me very much of Nicole Kidman .... strangely another person I am a fan of (besides her gorgeous husband, Keith Urban) .... Anyone else fans of this fine Irish dancing ?????
I know they are old hat now, but I have three videos of these. Absolutely Brilliant and I am envious of Jean Butler's hubby, because she is One Very Beautiful Lady. :gnthb:
When I lived in Dublin, I went to see it, a year after it was performed on Eurovision, when it was still wonderfully new and Ireland was discovering how to be trendy, yet true to its "heritage". Loved it. Amazing to think it all came about as an interlude piece for the Eurovision show that year. Bill Whelan must be very glad he submitted it!
There's loads of clips on YOUTUBE for RD. The music is fantstic as well. There's a superb video of Davy Spillane playing a slow air on Uillean Pipes.
