Mournful title, Yes. May I respectfully suggest that here on Gardeners Corner. We have a regular (sticky) for our respects and condolences for worldly friends etc. Keeping of course personal respects for family members and forum friends seperate. 2021 has given us the sad news of Gerry. of Gerry and the pacemakers as having passed away. Many of us will for time in memorial recall and listen to some great songs. Gerry. R.I.P Christopher Beeny. Known from, Upstairs Downstairs, Last of the Summer Wine etc. he passed away 3.1.21. R.I.P.
Good idea Mike. I was very sad to learn about Gerry, have been listening to him on YouTube and Match of the Day last night did an excellent tribute to him, as most probably know the Kop adopted "You'll Never Walk Alone". His tear jerking rendition at the Hillsborough Services:
Indeed, such a good idea that it would appear one of my colleagues has already made this a thread. Such a shame about Gerry passing - hugely talented man, wonderful voice and of course his legacy is music that will touch people's hearts for many years to come.
Thanks guys. It is so sad when celebs etc come to the end of the line. Yes we stop and reminence over our sharing along with them. Now we are left with memories. With todays tecnology I find myself engaging with a personality and then, realising. This friend passed away perhaps many years ago. So. Yes it's good to remember. Losses within our own families etc. I feel that mentioning this on the forum is good, and at the same time. As forum members, we have become a family. Here we share each others blessing and also sadly our losses.
