First is a salvia cutting I've wrongly labelled up as salvia Neon. I'm pretty sure its salvia Amistad...anyone able to confirm?

the second one has been growing in a shady spot for two years...it looks familiar but might be a weed. i honestly cannot remember whether I planted it or not...

Hi Snorky85, can't help with the first one, but the second is Arum maculatum, the wild form.

I have quite a few salvias but I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with either of these Snorky, I think you must be right if they're the only two possibilities, leaf shape looks more like the latter, more pointed at the tips. :dunno:

Hmm... I see 'Amistad' is a H3, same as my 'African Sky'. I avoided putting 'African Sky' in a cold greenhouse this year and simply potted it in a large glazed pot, kept it dry and by a house wall when flowering stopped. Despite the very cold spells and it also being deciduous it hasn't even totally died down here in Notts so I might do the same in future years. :)

I've got some in pots outside next to the house, some in front garden border and some cuttings in the greenhouse. everything was doing great until that blimmin day of snow.

I have 2 large Amistad in the borders. I can't lift them as the roots are too deep. At the 1st frosts I cut them to around 4inch at the base and cover with a large plant pot with straw and mulch in until spring. They are 1 of my favourites.

I've tried them overwinter ( Amistad ) outside and they did survive the winter in my most free draining border , only problem then is the slugs like the young shoots so it had to be removed and grown on anyway . It would of surely died this winter if they were outside, I ma a tad worried about the ones in the GH I've lifted.
