Aloe Vera?

I acquired this little plant recently. Is it aloe Vera?
is it best to remove the little ones and pot them?

I'm no expert...but I think that yes, it is an Aloe Vera. Pot up the babies and you'll get loads! BEWARE: they are harmful to cats if ingested (and if you have a cat like my Alfie, he tries to ingest EVERYthing, so I'm down to plastic houseplants

 

Its not Aloe vera, I think it might be Aloe aristata, but not sure.

You can remove the pups and pot them up separately or leave them on.

Aristata it is, a versatile and sturdy plant. Planted in a bowl shaped container, the offshoots will quickly fill it for a nice display. Single young plants look good in tall containers.

Aristata flowers easily and is somewhat hardy if kept dry over the winter.

 

I've grown them outside for years,can only remember them once suffering damage over winter.

 

Yes my colanderful has been ok outdoors for some years, but to me the plants are just surviving and don't do much else. Their indoors cousins are romping away, flowering and seemingly enjoying the Good Life

 

Mine flower every year outside, I find they prefer a slightly sheltered spot but are good for putting in difficult dry areas like under the house eves or even under trees where there is no rain all summer.
