That's not what FC was saying! There are medical conditions where people can't have the jab!!!

yeah, I understood that, sorry I probably wasn't clear. The problem @noisette47 is describing is the people who have not been vaccinated, and don't care, being in public space and infecting other people. The pandemic is a nightmare on many levels, the economic consequences will be with us for a generation, turning a blind eye is not an option.

So the restaurant, cinema, school, plane stops letting the anti vaxers in, thus nNeed to be able to tell the different between someone who can't have the vaccine (FC's example), and someone who doesn't give a toss (my point)

Good morning @Kristen my friend I think you are making a generalisation with your above post there are numerous reasons why some people don't or won't or indeed can't have the vaccine please think carefully before you post in the future thankyou:smile::blue thumb:

I haven't had the jab, why, when seeing doctors breaking the rules/law with people visting inside, staying over night and kissing and hugging when they leave in the last 4 months, that's why i will not go any where near a doctors surgery, hospitel or vax centre untill i think it's safe to do so, why should i risk going if the people you see where you have the jab may be the ones that have been breaking the rules and law and i don't know if they could be the one's that are spreading it

I haven't met any body for over a year, i only see people when shopping and paying bills at the bank, i make sure i keep away from as many people as i can, it limits me in getting it as much as pos, yes i may get it but i'm doing eventhing i can not to get it

            New local lockdowns:

"Travel in and out of the areas is heavily urged against due to the rapid rise in new cases. Members of the public in the areas have been told they should not meet indoors and should avoid social contact"

What's the legal status of a 'heavy urge'?

Neighbours had visitors from 2 households ( total of 3 households) staying overnight at the weekend and one of them was a doctor. One of their cars was parked 2 streets away. The same doctor stayed overnight in earlier lockdowns when visiting wasn't allowed, always parking 3 streets away.

Let people have 2 households stay together overnight and they'll have 3, change the rules to 3 because it's happening anyway, and they'll have 4 households staying.

I wasn't wishing to stir things up  It was more a tongue-in-cheek reference to the well-known French obsession with food ;)
The weather Gods haven't been kind since the 19th. The resto terrasses are open, but so were the heavens, mostly.

Hi Jiffy I think you should make the effort, covid is not going to go away and it will never be "safe " as such.
Only you can keep you safe, by getting the jab and taking every precaution in the process which you think is necessary.
You could end up isolating for years at this rate.

If i didn't see the people breaking rules i may have the jab but knowing my luck it could be the very same people giving me that jab, I very rearly go to doc's, hospitel or dentists(i sort out my own theeth myself not gone to dentists for 60years+) any way, as for isolating i've been doing that for 20-25 years  as i've said before i don't have family or freinds i hate going out to party's, do's, weddings and funeals and even dislike being any where near lots of people so isolating is very easy for me even in my lorry day's most of my time would be alone so i'm very happy to be alone, hell's bell's i sound like a old fart:biggrin:

Why is Ursula not throwing a wobbler about this?

Israel is examining dozens of cases where people experienced heart inflammation after receiving Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE’s coronavirus vaccine.

Health officials are investigating whether the cases are connected with the shot which has been administered to more than 5 million people, Corona Commissioner Nachman Ash said Sunday in an interview with Radio 103FM. The government identified 62 incidents of inflammation of the heart muscle, or heart-muscle membrane, Channel 12 reported last week, citing a health ministry study.

Affects mainly blokes under 30 - why is Boris offering the Pfizer and BioNTech jabs to those under 40 - when they carry this risk? Someone needs to say "look, none of the vaccines are 100% safe - these are the risks - which do you want."

Not sure about the situation in UK, but over here, the only section of the population that has an increasing incidence of infection is 40-55 year-olds. When you read of some of the nasty possible longer-lasting effects of Covid, and how randomly it strikes, it seems daft not to protect yourself.
Having said that, are the current vaccines effective against the various mutations? I suppose we'll have the same scenario as for ordinary 'flu, where it's a gamble on whether the jab is right for the prevailing strain.

How odd. It appears that not dying is insufficient incentive.

countries across the world introduce "vaccine lotteries" giving cash incentives for people to get jabs
