      Oooh, not heard of that one before - doesn't sound pleasant either, especially by its other name of stinking iris!

        I do have a couple of clumps of it here - it's not especially stinky, just smellier than other irises if you cut the leaves! It thrives in a couple of difficult shady corners, is evergreen and the leaves shine nicely especially in the rain. Flowers not much to write home about but the seed pods are attractive when they split open. Will spread/ seed itself around so needs to be kept under control.

          I spotted it along a towpath by the river, so it can probably go as nuts as it wants there.
