Solved Any ideas what this shrub is?

    This shrub has popped up, but we don't know what it is. Please ignore the dwarf cherry tree in the background. Does anyone know what this shrub is please? TIA shrub  3.jpg shrub 2.jpg shrub1.jpg

    Maybe cherry is grafted.
    Maybe this is a sucker from the root stock.

      Got an idea if you delve down into the lower stem of the cherry you will find this growing out of the roots or lower stem.
      Looks very much like a sucker that needs removing.

        These definitely come out of the ground. But you may well be right. It makes sense if they're the cherry tree's original form/variety. The cherry tree has been there about 20 years.
