I find the way they sell cigarettes pretty stupid these days.
A while back I was behind some bloke trying to buy some, but he couldn't remember the name of the ones he wanted.

It involved a very long winded session of opening that sliding door thing that they hide them behind and taking out a packet to show him, and him saying, no they are not the ones.
Of course each time the sliding door shut itself, so had to be opened again and another packet brought out.

It took ages.

 

I've been going down the line of having my kitchen worktops covered, with new sink.
So got to the point of installation booked for today, thought I might have had a confirmation phone call from them yesterday, but nothing.

So I completely cleared the kitchen out yesterday afternoon and left a few odd bits until this morning.
8am, I get a call saying, one of our installers has tested positive so we will have to reschedule it.

As a certain person would say, I dont believe it!

 

That must have been infuriating, but at least they didn't just go ahead with the work and expose you to possible infection

 

I know its common sense but still a PITA as you say.

Hmmm, kinda reminds me of Fb trolls.....

@pete My son had his entire kitchen ripped out in preparation for a new one. Then tney didn't show up for weeks, and then 3 hours here and 3 hours there. He's crossing his fingers that maybe they'll be able to use it by Christmas. Cowboys!

Are you getting a large sink? I love my 20"deep x 30" wide one. I can jam just about anything in there.

When 'One foot in the grave' was first shown in the 90's i would laugh at Victor.
But now if i watch a re run i find myself nodding in agreement with him.
Sweet wrappers all over the pavements. Trades people not showing up. Random phone calls from sales people etc.
Maybe it's cos I'm getting old but i empathise a lot more with him now

 

Well, I am completely clueless. Who was trolling? What trolling? I've seen no evidence of it on this thread! Is this just senility finally kicking in with a couple of you or am I missing something?

Remembering one occasion. We were out with company around the dinner table and i told a joke. Everyone laughed except one lady, who kicked me under the table.
My innuendo obviously didn't register with her.
I guess some quips can get taken in the wrong context
