Solved What is this fungus?

Hi,

I've just noticed this fungus appearing in large areas of an unplanted bed. I put new compost down a few weeks ago. Does anyone know what it is? And do I need to get rid of it?

I'm new to gardening and would appreciate any advice.

Hi, and welcome to Gardeners Corner ! .
I think that it could be Common Birds Nest fungi , common on decaying organic matter especially woody matter.
